A 1998 Nerf Lightning Blitz modded. I never did post my other nerf mods (yet, I don’t know if I will or not) but this is my 3rd nerf mod. This took hours. The “worms” and chicken are all made of clay and painted. The whole gun had a repaint job.
Some inspiration came from the anime Rin:daughters of mnemosyne. (it’s mature anime, for nudity and violence in case anyone gets any ideas to watch it.) Which was a little bit of a freaky anime but ultimately after it was all said and done I really enjoyed it.

I used some half silvered glass in front and a mirror on the back to give an infinity effect. This looks great when you move past the clock and see the parallax on the receding reflections. Better in real life – it’s hard to photo. I put the tubes on clear pedestals and these each have a neon inside that flicks across each second.
These goggles have an aged cream finish and gold highlights with a triple 9x (3x ea) magnifying loupe mounted on the right eye cup. Golden spikes and a silver skull and crossbones insignia are mounted on the sides. They also include 2- 50mm clear polycarbonate lenses, 2-50mm shade 3 green polycarbonate lenses, 2- 2" brass mesh screen inserts, and an elastic head strap. This started life as a combination of parts from various sources. The handle and trigger assembly is a .99 cent neon green squirt gun from a Walgreens. The gold barrel is a plastic toilet paper roll holder.. the fancy knobby upper body of the gun is… A Turbo laser from a 1970’s era Kenner Death Star Playset.. a little glue and paint.. voila!
Those illuminating green tubes might look a bit OTT, but check out the intricate exposed mechanisims on the front panel. Jon Valjean’s Jules Verne won first prize in the xLAN case mod competition it’s easy to see why.
In the classic childrens book Alices Adventures in Wonderland, Alice told the hookah-smoking caterpillar that hell one day transform into a butterfly, but she never told him hed go through a steampunk phase first. Introducing: Ignatious Longbottom by the artist Doktor A
Outlandish and innovative, Ignatious Longbottom seen at RiverArt will certainly quench your boredom. Doktor A certainly drove the Turkish vibe from the hookah a bit further with its thick mustache and the fez no, not the foreign kid from That 70s Show on its head.
